A dependable, low-maintenance sand filter for a mid-size above-ground pool. This Intex Krystal Clear SX1500 circulates up to 1,500 gallons (about 4,500–5,700 litres) per hour through a 10″ sand tank driven by a 0.25 HP motor, suited to pools of roughly 2,800–8,400 US gallons (up to ~20 m³). Because it filters through ordinary pool sand rather than cartridges — and the sand only needs replacing about every 5 years — it's an economical, hands-off way to keep water clear.

A 6-function control valve (filter, backwash, rinse, recirculate, drain, close) handles all the routine maintenance, and a built-in 24-hour timer with 2–12-hour preset cycles runs the pump automatically each day. Intex's Hydro Aeration Technology improves circulation and water clarity as it filters. It'll also run on glass media or Fiber Ball media if you prefer an alternative to sand. Two 1.5″ (38 mm) connector hoses and a Hydro Aeration inlet fitting are included in the box.

⚠️ Voltage — read before buying: This is the 220–240 V version. Curaçao's mains is 127 V, so it won't run plugged straight into a local outlet — it needs a step-up transformer (127 V → 220–240 V) rated for the motor. Its 50 Hz frequency does match Curaçao's supply, so with an adequate transformer it runs correctly. It also ships with a European plug, so a plug adapter/rewire is needed regardless.
