The Hillman Hardware Essentials Lag Thread Screw Eye is a sturdy steel eye screw with a closed loop at one end and a lag thread at the other. It is designed for screwing directly into wood. It is ideal for hanging items with a constant weight around the house, garage or barn. The brass finish provides protection against rust and corrosion. This 3/8" x 4-1/2" screw eye has a safe working load limit of 155 lbs. It installs easily in a pilot hole made with a drill and a 3/16" drill bit. It is intended for static loads only and must not be used to lift loads.
